Through barter people get to know each other more than through standard cash transactions. This leads to making new friends, earning referrals which may lead to more trades and often to new cash customers, and building a network of long term business associates/contacts. Another way of thinking long term is to focus on building trade relationships with other members who will be able to do repeating or even perpetual trades. Examples include coffee, advertising, hosting, etc. Once you find some good people to work things out with they will usually be glad to continue bartering for years to come.
